Who is the owner?

Anita Bouvier R.N.

Hello, I'm Anita Bouvier, a Registered Nurse with over 30 years of experience across hospital and community-based settings. For much of my career, I dedicated myself to owning and operating three Personal Care Homes in Saskatoon from 1996 to 2012. Our focus was on providing specialized care to residents with diverse physical, mental, and emotional needs, particularly those living with dementia.

Driven by a passion to advance eldercare standards, I actively engaged with the Saskatoon and Saskatchewan Personal Care Homes Associations, serving as President and Vice-President for several years. I also collaborated with the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan within a working committee to develop “A Strategy for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias in Saskatchewan”.

As an instructor for the Personal Care Workers course, introduced during my tenure, I empowered care home operators and aides to elevate their skills and confidence in delivering exceptional care. This experience reinforced my commitment to advocating for the well-being of residents and caregivers alike.

Transitioning from direct operation to a role with the Saskatchewan Health Authority as an Assessor Coordinator, I further honed my assessment expertise across diverse medical conditions and community settings. My focus has always been on ensuring clients receive timely and appropriate services, collaborating closely with service partners in both urban and rural areas.

Now, as the founder of Senior Care Compass, I am thrilled to offer comprehensive assessment services, personalized care plans, and educational opportunities for caregivers. My aim is to enhance residents' quality of life, improve health outcomes, and ultimately reduce hospital and long-term care admissions.

I invite you to partner with Senior Care Compass in our shared mission to enrich the lives of those we care for.

To educate and empower Personal Care Home caregivers to help deliver high quality care, focusing on Resident’s social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Do you have any questions?

Typically, an in-person visit which includes the resident, a support person and the care giver, takes approximately 1 ½ hours in the home and then another 1 hour to complete the data entry to then be finalized for distribution.

A pre-admission assessment plays a crucial role in identifying an individual's current care requirements, facilitating the selection of an appropriate care facility. Once completed, this assessment serves as a comprehensive document that can be presented to potential care facilities to evaluate their capacity to meet the individual's specific needs. Such assessments can be conducted in various settings including hospitals for discharge planning, at the individual's residence, or within other care homes and assisted living environments. This process ensures informed decisions regarding placement, aiming to optimize the individual's care and well-being.

Senior Care Compass Assessors qualifications include a degree in social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy or be a registered nurse.

Our educators for Specialized Care training and the on-line caregiver education modules are licensed Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses.
